This album is unlike anything I've ever done. It's basically just a process of going into full ape rage mode and expelling a whole bunch of negative energy from my body because many things were less than good in my life at the time.

Alex Davern plays drums on this album and I didn't make life easy for him. I wanted this album to sound like angry gorillas beating the shit out of instruments so using percussion as the starting point made sense.

About 3 of these songs were half written prior to recording, the rest came about from somewhere else during the process. All the drums were recorded first, writing parts from vague ideas about what I wanted to yell about.

All the guitar parts were then written in a reactionary sense to that primal pounding, then the vocals were written and recorded in a reactionary sense to the drums & guitar arrangements and finally a bunch of random noise and other things were thrown in to fill gaps in the wall.

This album was recorded in the basement of a house in Lenah Valley with some noise and vocal tracking done in New Town later on.

Special thanks to Jack for letting me use his bass amp for the special Deadeye stereo rig design (Ovation Preacher, neck pickup through Verellen Big Spider into Eminence Bass Amp, Bridge Pickup through self made Ampeg Scrambler clone into Blackheart Hothead) and to Anthony and Tahlia for putting up with the goddamn racket and shaking house.

Immense thanks to Alex for helping to realise my crazy ideas.

I honestly hope I never record another one of these albums again.
